Promised many times, never materialized 'till now.
The first ever World Champs with real time results.
Well done, I managed to SMS the results to the team before they did!
For the first fly off, the team beat me to it: 20 still left for the 7 minutes.
Flapper showdown.....

Sergey, well done!
And look at that difference in time between first and second spot.
Looks like flappers are here to stay.
Thanks again for the fast results, almost like being there, almost......

You should have seen him trim and test the model at Holiday on Ice: tight circle, accelerate, but not quite the right position, so slow down, relatch. And do it again, and again, and again. After 10+ interrupted starts he eventually flew one, and phew-was that high! The models with Eggleston airfoil seem to get higher, but they then loose on glide.
A remarkable title, and well-deserved!

Congrat's to Sergey with his Flapper wings !!!
Now, Eggeleston wings users have to show to everybody that these kinds of wings are really better than flappers !!!
I believe in Eggleston and the next World champion will be with Eggeleston wings !!!! :D
See you in Poitou contest !

Congratulations to all - both competitors as well as organizers!
Anyway it's interesting to compare competitions on FAI calendar regarding results publishing. There are biiiiiiig differences - hand written and only at the end of the competition on one side on many events and (almost) realtime web published on some events in World Cup (Siscia, V. Kmoch, Mura Cup....) and some WC/EC's on the other side.
Again - congrat's to Croatian modellers for outstanding efforts! Those who compete themselves know competitor's needs.

A comment on team scores published as PDF files. (Did not want to start a new thread!)
The team rankings you published on the WCH2009 web site after the seventh round for F1A (yesterday) and F1B (today) as PDF files are incomplete. For example, in F1A, Israel and Russia are listed as sharing the first team place.
In case of such ties (after the regular rounds), you have to factor in the flyoff individual rankings and the team with the lowest sum is ranked higher. In this case, after the flyoffs, the Russians were ranked 1st (Makarov), 3rd (Titov) and 17th (Kozyrev) summing to 21. The Israelis were ranked 2nd (Kraus), 10th (Bacher) and 12th (Fruman) summing to 24. Very close, but according to this rule, the Russians are ranked first, the Israelis second.
Having said this, the timely reporting is outstanding!

Mr.Aram, from my point of view you are not at right in first part of your post and Croatian guys do not deserve this critique .Even in your post ,you mentioned that result are AFTER ROUND 7th…..Croatian decided to list individuals and teams , with same results, after each round in alphabetical order. Therefore they made it correct to list Israel before Russia because list was made BEFORE fly-off and the end of F1A competition!!
The other part is correct because you are speaking about FINAL results.
By the way, I am delighted with job that Croatian did regarding fast post results that all modellers all-round the world had feeling that they are on site of competition. It was first time , to my knowledge, that we got such extraordinary job so well done.. FAI must be aware that this is the best advertising of our sport and therefore for all organiser of CHAMPIONSHIPs OF THE WORLD, in the future, this way of information should be MUST.

Mike,
great to read from you, that your frreflight thermal sense is still working and you are on the right web site, where they great life in croatia gon on.
but you should sit in the middle of the seat, the edge is not the right place for you as EX-Worldchampion 1993 in F1A. It's only 16 years ago, but looks like it happened yesterday.
I'm sitting with on the balkony of appartment named "Success" (where I try to combine famly holiday with freeflight WC, WChamps) near ZADAR around 120 km away from the Krabovskoje Polje, a wonderful flying field comparable like Mostar or Livno, where you have been also several times in the old good days of the last century. You remember: We met us first time with Lee Hines in 1983 at famous old bridge in Mostar and had a marvelous time at the coast.
Mike, I miss you very much on the flying line, always standing on the ground with your sense for thermal und dry humour. I'm also since 6 years now out of big Freeflight business , since nice living models ( Lisa 8 and Jasmin 6) are part of my life and job is getting more timespending. 1 year break during moving businessdriven to Frankfurt and building house - always flying old models with mechanical stuff, but made the Odessa team and don't lost by competing at several contest every year contact to Frredlight scenery. Often thinking of closing modelbox ever or starting with this electronic stuff new or ... So since 8 month no model on the line, first time this year flying FF last week here at WC before the champs. I had a real hugh comeback here and finished in 2.nd FO with 335 sec on place 9 of 119. when you look the 8 people in front of me, which hightec model they flew and successes they have in the past few years: makarov, titov , 2 x Findahl ( Son beat Papa on Flapper with Papas old wepaons), Koglot and Profi Stamov with hic tec Flapper ( 6th versions since last October !!!) only few sec in front of me - I flew my standard short model like all the day. After contest I was death and was very happy of this success. So Mike, why I tell you this. We are missing you and you have to comeback next year. Think about
Your Slogan should be : No FLapper, no tears, no electronic, no fears !!!! Ansgar Nüttgens
